SEMA Show attendees and exhibitors can start making travel arrangements by taking advantage of the discounted airfare options available through SEMAShow.com.

SEMA Show organizers work with major air carriers to offer discounted airfare for exhibitors, attendees and media heading to the SEMA Show. Alaska, Delta and United are among the airlines offering up to 10% off on round-trip airfare to Las Vegas.

Each airline provides discounts for all Showgoers, whether they arrive a few days before the Show, or leave several days after. The valid travel dates that the discounts are available are below.

The inaugural Sonoma Speed Festival will feature the Masters Historic Formula One USA and Masters Endurance Legends USA, May 31–June 2 at Sonoma Raceway.

Sonoma Speed Festival Secures Two Masters Historic Racing Grids for Inaugural Event

The inaugural Sonoma Speed Festival will feature the Masters Historic Formula One USA and Masters Endurance Legends USA—the first time these two grids will appear at any event—when the international race and wine festival takes place, May 31–June 2 at Sonoma Raceway in Sonoma, California. According to Masters Founder and President Ron Maydon, it was time to bring out the new Masters Endurance Legends USA class of racing because of the demand and inventory of cars available from the time period. Historic Motor Sports Association is sanctioning all racing for the Sonoma Speed Festival. The new Masters Endurance Legends USA series will feature all cars that were eligible to enter major endurance events from 1982–2016.

Courtney Force Stepping Away From Driving Duties

The winningest female Funny Car driver in NHRA history, Courtney Force, a top-10 finisher in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series in six of her seven professional seasons, has announced that she will be climbing out of the driver’s seat of her 11,000hp, 330-mph John Force Racing Advance Auto Parts Chevy Camaro SS Funny Car. While her driving duties will come to an end, Force looks forward to continuing to stay involved within the sport of NHRA Championship Drag Racing by supporting her teammates and maintaining off-track partnerships.

Hagerty Joins with SCCA to Become Official Insurance Partner

During its annual meeting, Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) announced that Hagerty has signed on to become the official insurance partner of SCCA. As an official partner, SCCA President and CEO Mike Cobb said Hagerty helps provide the support necessary to execute the more than 2,000 events the Club conducts each year through its 116 regions and subsidiary divisions. SCCA’s current event insurance supplier has not changed with the addition of Hagerty as the official insurance partner of SCCA.

“Horsepower Wars” Welcomes Summit Racing Equipment as Official Retail Partner with Two-Year Extension

Power Automedia’s “Horsepower Wars” series has announced a two-year partnership with Summit Racing, which has also been named the official retail partner of “Horsepower Wars.” The show pits rival teams against one another with competitions on the dyno, at the dragstrip, or at the road course. In the inaugural season, Summit Racing’s assistance enabled participating teams to quickly get what they needed, and Summit was a critical element to each build. For 2019 and beyond, Summit Racing will provide gift cards and product support for both “Horsepower Wars’” $10K Drag Shootout and Junkyard Truck Challenge events. Season 2 kicks off with production in March 2019, and can be watched at www.horsepowerwars.com.

Red Line Synthetic Oil is marking its 40th anniversary in 2019. Throughout 2019, Red Line will celebrate this anniversary by sponsoring more events and drivers than ever before. Covercraft Names Gutierrez General Manager of Special Markets

Covercraft has announced the promotion of Noemi Gutierrez to the new position of general manager, special markets. In Gutierrez’s expanded leadership role, she will be responsible for the development and management of Covercraft’s OEM, specialty and private-label business. Gutierrez began her career at Covercraft as an order clerk in 1994 and has ascended the ranks of the company to her present position.

Outstanding Order Fill Earns Penray Inc. Accolades From Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance

Penray Inc. has received a special recognition award from the the Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance for consistent exceptional order fill throughout the year. Penray supplies Parts Master and Perfect Stop brands as well as Penray-branded products that combined include nearly 100 different chemicals, treatments, cleaners and additives. Wheeler Bros. Inc. Joins VIPAR Heavy Duty

Wheeler Bros. Inc. is the newest company to join the VIPAR Heavy Duty network of distributors as a stockholder. Located in Somerset, Pennsylvania, Wheeler Bros. Inc. supplies vehicle parts to the Department of Defense, the U.S. Postal Service and commercial fleets in Western Pennsylvania. The company was started in 1960 as a small engine repair shop and has grown into an automotive engineering and parts distribution company with more than 250 employees.

Here’s the ’20 Toyota Tundra undergoing testing in Ann Arbor, Michigan, alongside the current-generation Ford F-150.

Toyota is giving the Tundra a major refresh for 2020, while preserving the 11-year-old cab from 2008, pretty much following the Toyota Camry playbook (’06–’17 maintained the same greenhouse/pillars).

The Tundra will get all-new looks from the A-pillar forward, along with an all-new interior, updated bed and a new tailgate. These changes should keep the Tundra “fresh” for another couple of years. Some engine tweaks may also be in the works. A new 10-speed automatic that first appeared in the Lexus LC and LS models is also slated for all of Toyota’s rear-drive vehicles, including the Tundra.

The most interesting part of this prototype involves the (street sweeper) camo disguising the rear axle and rear suspension. Could Toyota be taking a page from RAM’s playbook with an air suspension option? Or even wilder, an independent rear suspension?

Expect to see this ’20 Tundra later this year.
