In partnership with Aston Martin, the SEMA Garage has announced the first-ever Aston Martin Measuring Session, Wednesday, July 17. Over the past two years, Aston Martin has redesigned its entire core lineup under the Second Century Plan, nearly doubling sales volumes. This is a rare opportunity to jump into a growing but still underserved aftermarket ecosystem. Three all-new Aston Martin models will be available, and Aston Martin technical experts will be on site.

![]() The champion can display the trophy for a year with its company name engraved among the winners. It must then be returned in a Stanley Cup-style tradition, as it will be up for grabs again at next year’s Pinewood Drag Races, when the company will have a chance to defend its title. |
The SEMA Pinewood Drag Race's annual Industry Cup Challenge takes charitable giving to the next level.
Sponsoring companies are split into five divisions, where they race with high-quality, child-built pinewood cars. Each division crowns a winning company, which then goes on to represent that division in an all-out industry race to No. 1.
Everyone is a true winner as the charities (Austin Hatcher Foundation, Childhelp and Victory Junction) continue to help those in need, the disadvantaged children have fun building toy cars, and the industry engages the community in an overwhelmingly positive way.
The industry challengers each have a limited number of entrants in the following divisions:
- Warehouse Distributors
- Manufacturers
- Media Groups
- Rep Agencies
- Service Providers
The champion can display the impressive trophy for a year with its company name boldly engraved among the winners. It must then be returned, in a Stanley Cup-style tradition, as it will be up for grabs again at the next Pinewood Drags, when the company will have a chance to defend the title.
The donation cost is $1,000 per sponsoring company. The standard pinewood build rules apply to all competing vehicles. Vehicles are randomly assigned and the race is officiated by SEMA Cares volunteers.

Legislation (L.B. 38) to require the issuance of only a single, rear-mounted license plate for all motor vehicles failed to pass before the Nebraska legislature adjourned for 2019. The SEMA-supported bill is eligible to be reconsidered during next year’s legislative session.
In 2016, Nebraska passed legislation allowing owners of vehicles not originally equipped with a front bracket the option to request a single license plate for a $100 annual fee.
