	Brian Deegan, in his #38 Rockstar Energy Drink/Makita Power Tools Ford, closed the weekend with another first-place win at LOORS.

Deegan Gains Overall Points Lead at LOORS
Rounds three and four found Brian Deegan back on top of the podiums in both the Pro Lite and Pro 2 classes at the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORS) this past weekend. Saturday's races started out with Deegan winning the Pro Lite class in his #38 Rockstar Energy Drink/Makita Power Tools Ford. In the late afternoon Pro 2 race, Deegan led the field after the first lap before crossing the finish line second. On Sunday Deegan was part of a pile-up after a restart in the Pro 2 race, suffering a flat tire that sent him back to the pits. After coming out of the pits and fighting to get back in the running, Deegan crossed the finish line in the ninth position. Closing out the weekend, Deegan finished with another first-place win, bringing him back in the game for the overall points lead.

Irwindale Speedway Announces Late-Season Schedule Change
Irwindale Speedway has announced that it will shift the date of its 2013 stock-car finale to avoid a date potential conflict with the MAVTV 500 event at Auto Club Speedway.

The NASCAR card that was set for that night will jump ahead two weeks to Saturday night, November 2, and thus become the final race of the regular 2013 NASCAR season at the Speedway. The November 2 race will feature a full card of NASCAR racing that starts with the Super Late Models and features two divisions of racing trucks: the Progressive Painting Race Trucks and Pick Your Part SW Tour Trucks, along with races for Legends Cars, Bandoleros and Super Stocks.

The track's annual Halloween event, "The 10th Annual Night of Destruction," will run Saturday night, October 26, as planned.

Gardner Leads USAC/CRA Series to the PAS for Don Flanders Classic
After a month away, the Amsoil USAC/CRA Sprint Car Series returns to Perris Auto Speedway (PAS) Saturday night, May 4, for the running of the Don Flanders Classic. Joining the series will be the PAS Senior Sprints and PAS Young Gun Sprint Cars presented by The Sprint Car Driving Experience. Spectator gates will open at 5:00 p.m., and the first race will start at 7:00 p.m.

Damion Gardner won both of the USAC/CRA races at Cocopah Speedway in Yuma, Arizona, two weeks ago. Those triumphs propelled the 2005 series champion to the top of the 2013 championship standings. Heading into Saturday’s Don Flanders Classic on Riverside County half-mile clay oval, Gardner leads teammate Nic Faas by four points. Bud Kaeding is third in the standings followed by five-time defending series champion Mike Spencer and R.J. Johnson.

The shooters at KGP Photography caught what may very well be the pace car for the 2013 Indy 500—this C7 Corvette sporting a slew of safety lighting and curiously covered lower side sills—testing at GM's Milford Proving Grounds.

The C7 test car stood out among other, more mundane test subjects due to the bright flashes that could be seen more than a mile away as it made its way down GM's high-speed straightaway. Up front, the C7's stock LEDs in its headlight clusters displayed a custom flashing pattern, coinciding with flashing LEDs mounted within its front grille work. The lighting array flashed in an attention-getting random sequence as seen on typical race-prepped safety vehicles.

The C7 manages to keep its sexy, svelte silhouette by placing a large light bar inside the vehicle, visible only through the rear glass. The light bar appears to be boxed in with a custom tray, which keeps the extraneous light from reflecting on the backlight, thus maintaining some degree of rearward visibility. It looks like the interior light bar application will do away with any need for an exterior, roof-mounted light strip.

As the C7 Pace Car went through its tests, the various lighting sequences were on display for short periods to ensure that all of the electronics were working.

The C7 Pace Car is finished in what appears to be its Laguna Blue hue (although it may be a custom color). The C7's lower side sills (on both sides) are covered in a white body wrap, which may very well hide a portion of its Pace Car livery, although any tell-tale decals are still MIA.

So which upcoming race will see this C7 leading the field? It's still unknown, although Corvette fan sites have been speculating whether the C7 would be eligible to pace the upcoming Indy 500, which is scheduled to run May 26. These shots may very well answer that speculation, as the timing seems spot on for a C7 Indy 500 Pace Car to be undergoing its final preparations for the 97th running of the classic American race. The Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels Edition is serving as the Official Vehicle of the Indy 500 (in a blue very similar to this C7 Pace Car).

Legislation to provide for the prompt issuance of titles to owners of out-of-state motor vehicles that are 35 years old or older was approved by the North Carolina Senate with amendments. Under the amended bill, the Division of Motor Vehicles will have 15 days to consider performing an inspection and up to 15 days more to issue the title. The SEMA-supported bill has been sent to the House Transportation Committee for consideration.
