All wheel and tire professionals interested in learning more about the WTC and its initiatives are invited to take advantage of the general membership meeting’s learning and networking opportunities.

The Wheel and Tire Council (WTC) is hosting an open meeting in the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport area, Tuesday, February 20. All wheel and tire professionals interested in learning more about the WTC and its initiatives are invited to take advantage of the event’s learning and networking opportunities.

During the general membership meeting, WTC members will discuss the council’s initiatives and the benefits of becoming a council member. Other scheduled activities include a seminar on vehicle technology, a wheel and tire testing forum and an on-site proving-ground facility tour, which includes a stability-control test viewing. A Top Golf networking outing is also scheduled. Group transportation  to the proving ground will be provided during the agenda’s afternoon portion.

Registration is required to participate.

The select committee will gather for a second day to further discuss the wheel and tire market in a closed meeting setting. More information regarding the event’s primary location is yet to be determined. However, event registration is now open.

The Internal Revenue Service has set the standard business-mileage deduction at 54.5 cents per mile for 2018. The rate is up 1 cent from 2017. The mileage calculation includes the cost of fuel, along with other vehicle fixed and variable operating expenses, such as depreciation, insurance, tires, etc. Companies and individuals who use their automobiles (including vans, pickups and panel trucks) for business have the option of using the standard rate in lieu of keeping records of their actual expenses.
