When Classic Cars, Beach Boys and Networking Collide!
The first in a series of SEMA Town Hall meetings was held in Scottsdale, Arizona, on February 4. The meetings provide not only networking opportunities, but also a chance for member companies to provide feedback about where they would like the association to concentrate its efforts.
Some of the key conversations that arose from this Town Hall event focused on:
- Key resources available from SEMA for small businesses
- Legislative initiatives that might negatively affect automotive specialty-equipment businesses and what SEMA is doing about them
- How a business can best become involved in SEMA
- Resources that are available
to help bring younger people
into the industry
- The value businesses receive
for their membership dues
This open dialogue allowed SEMA to really understand what members need and, more importantly, what benefits SEMA provides that members may have been unaware of.
“I attended the Phoenix event and thought it was great,” said former SEMA Board of Directors member Jon Lundberg. “Neat venue, good networking opportunities, well-constructed meeting and good following questions that were properly answered.”
