CPP’s Mustang II IFS systems allow you to enjoy the comfort and benefits of having an independent suspension system in your early Ford, Chevy or Nova. These kits come with a crossmember, coil springs, stock or 2-in. drop spindles, 113/4-in.-diameter rotor performance brakes, gas shocks, upper and lower tubular control arms, a new power rack-and-pinion, a sway bar, forged hubs and our Big Bore calipers, plus mounting hardware. At the heart of these innovative kits are the 1/4-in. steel crossmember that bolts to the chassis in place of the factory strut-rod mounts, eliminating the factory strut rods, and adding adjustable forward control arm mounts. Kits add stability, alignability, improved steering response and more than 2-in. of ground clearance. Eliminating the binding action caused by the factory strut rods allows maintenance of proper wheel alignment. The Mini Sub-Frame accommodates both factory and aftermarket sway bars. CPP’s upper and lower Totally Tubular control arms are welded for maximum strength and visual impact. The lower arms’ helical stamped coil spring mount secures the coil spring into the lower arm, making installation easy. The lower shock mount is incorporated into the stamped coil plate and accepts coil-over and Ridetech Shockwave units. All arms with cross shafts are pre-assembled with pivot sleeves and have a safety feature that captures both sides of the bushing—allowing full control and virtually no flex when cornering. Available in gloss black or silver powdercoat and include ball joints. These springs are designed with the lower-end sets on the coil-over shock and the upper-end sets in the original spring bucket in the frame—allowing for a longer and lighter spring for more stored energy and increased weight transfer. Greater durability occurs by locating the spring pressure in the frame. The threaded aluminum body allows ride height adjustment with an easy bolt-in installation.
