One of the main problems with swapping an LS series engine into 1955–1987 Chevrolet is the oil pan clearance.

Holley’s engineers took that into consideration when they designed the new LS Retro-fit Engine Oil Pan. It’s designed to provide maximum clearance to the chassis and ground, and provides an OEM fitment for durability and proper sealing. Sump oil capacity checks in at 5.5 quarts (6.0 with filter). This pan requires the use of a factory LS3 dipstick (GM P/N 12634547) and tube (GM P/N 12625031).
