The SEMA Future Leaders Network (FLN) has named Hannah Pennington, manager of mayhem at FLATED, as the network's newest spotlight member.
Get to know Pennington in her interview with SEMA News below.
SEMA News: What is the best advice you have ever received?
Hannah Pennington: "Don't take life too seriously; you'll never make it out alive." I bring that energy to my professional life. When work is fun, that passion is transparent and helps convey your message. Like when I launched a truck off a cliff in Alaska. You can combine fun with product testing and marketing!
SN: What keeps you in the industry?
HP: The people and how broad its base is. You've got people behind everything from rebuilding old-school engines to inventing new tech like self-driving cars––all from different backgrounds, making it happen. There's really a home for everyone in this space.
SN: Where can you be found on Saturday?
HP: High alpine lake in the summer. Snowboarding at my local mountain in the winter. I take full advantage of Montana.
SN: How do you prepare for an important meeting?
HP: A meeting is only as good as its agenda. I make sure I do research ahead of time and outline my thoughts. Clear, actionable items should be a result of a good meeting.
SN: If you could go to lunch with an industry leader, living or dead, who would it be?
HP: Mary Barra. I would love to learn everything I can from one of the most badass leaders not just our industry, but the world. I love seeing a woman leading the way.
