Hot Wheels (booth #61045) announced that Greg Salzillo and Dave Ford—builders of a ’57 Nash Metropolitan—are the winners of the 2019 Hot Wheels Legends Tour. The tour made more than 20 stops around the globe in search of a custom car worthy of joining the Hot Wheels collection as a 1:64 scale die-cast.

The ’57 Nash Metropolitan—nicknamed “Nashole” is the second fan’s car to be immortalized as a die-cast and will hit shelves in stores nationwide in 2020.

The vehicle was chosen from almost 5,000 custom cars for its embodiment of Hot Wheels’ high standards of performance and design while being completely unique to any die-cast car that the brand has built in its 51-year history.

Hot Wheels designers and automotive aficionados made up the judging team, including Jay Leno, Adam Carolla, Richard Rawlings, MotorTrend Editor-in-chief Ed Loh, international auto influencers Juca and Sidney Hoffman, founder of Gumball 3000 Maximillion Cooper, legendary auto designer Dave Marek, Speed Channel’s “Car Warriors” host Brad Fanshaw, “CarCast” co-host Matt D’Andria, race car drivers Jackie Heinricher and Collete Davis, YouTube sensation Tanner Fox, SEMA Vice President of Sales Warren Kosikov and more.

The winner’s lifesize car and die-cast version will also join the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends, a collection of one-of-a-kind cars immortalized as Hot Wheels die-casts.
