Recognizing that automotive technology is rapidly changing, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has issued an Enforcement Guidance Bulletin for addressing autonomous vehicles and other non-traditional new products and software. Comments on the guidance bulletin are due by May 2, 2016.
