The Save the Salt Coalition is promoting Century of Speed—a comprehensive history of racing at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

Visit the Save the Salt Booth in the Central Hall (#24099) of the 2015 SEMA Show to see the new Speed Demon. Seeking to compete for the world’s fastest piston-powered car at the Bonneville Salt Flats (BSF), the new vehicle incorporates the industry’s latest technology. Attendees will be able to look under the hood and inspect the newest engine management, safety and aerodynamic engineering that enables vehicles, such as the Speed Demon, to challenge land-speed records.

Deteriorating conditions and wet weather at the BSF forced cancellation of most of this year’s racing events, including Speed Week, where hundreds of teams race every type of vehicle, from hot rods and belly tankers to motorcycles and streamliners. SEMA, along with other organizations and companies comprising the Save the Salt Coalition, is working closely with federal and state government officials and the adjoining potash mine owner, to pursue short- and long-term solutions for restoring the BSF.

To help finance the effort, the Coalition is promoting Century of Speed—a comprehensive history of racing at the flats. A second printing, containing 26 extra pages, will be available at the SEMA Show’s Save the Salt booth.
