Final Episode: OPTIMA Batteries’ Search for the Ultimate Street Car

Viewers will watch as the entire field of OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational participants are showcased at the 2014 SEMA Show, and then head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway to push their vehicles to the limit.
  

The OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational event—coinciding with the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas—included nine vehicles selected right off the Show floor that were invited to compete. The event featured an appearance at SEMA Ignited, Friday night, November 7, after the Show had wrapped up. 

The the MAVTV network was on hand to catch the action throughout the week, and will air the 13th episode of “OPTIMA Batteries’ Search for the Ultimate Street Car,” November 21, at 8:00 p.m. (EST and PST).

This extended-length 90-minute episode will follow the participants from across the nation who had qualified for the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational event in Las Vegas. How the lucky few selected from the SEMA Show floor (and how they ultimately performed) will also be seen, just days after the event actually occurred. Viewers will watch as the entire field of OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational participants are showcased at the 2014 SEMA Show, and then head to Las Vegas Motor Speedway to push their vehicles to the limit and beyond. The field included a wide range of domestic and import vehicles of all vintages, and viewers will be treated to the full story of how the competition played out among this diverse group.

“All 100 of these participants faced a wide array of challenges as part of our seventh-annual Ultimate Street Car Invitational event,” said Cam Douglass, director of marketing for OPTIMA Batteries. “The competition was absolutely fierce, and it came down to less than a point between the two top finishers, with plenty of drama leading to that result. It will be exciting to see it all play out on the TV show Friday night at 8:00 p.m. EST and PST on MAVTV.”

The overall quality and craftsmanship of their entries was judged during the Lingenfelter Performance and Design Challenge. Their street-driving capabilities were proven on the Detroit Speed Road Rally. Their vehicle performance potential and driving skill were tested in three different on-track events, which included the BFGoodrich Hot Lap Challenge, the Wilwood Speed Stop Challenge and the all-new symmetrical side-by-side layout of the Ridetech Street Challenge Autocross.

The OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car Invitational was presented by K&N Filters. This year’s event sponsors were BFGoodrich Tires, Detroit Speed, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering, Ridetech, Wilwood Disc Brakes, Snap-On tools, Jet-Hot Coatings, Red Line Oil, Showtime Motorsports and the MAVTV Network.
