Through a partnership with the Alex Xydias Center for Automotive Arts (AXC), teens and young adults worked alongside 25 leading aftermarket manufacturers to install top-of-the-line parts and equipment on the vehicle, valued at more than $80,000. Companies have donated their time and energy to not only build a top-of-the-line vehicle, but also help promote the raffle. PowerNation TV, which includes the popular shows "Detroit Muscle," "Engine Power," "Xtreme Off-Road" and "Truck Tech," even recently donated a series of broadcast advertising spots to support the charity raffle. The spots have aired on three networks—CBS Sports, NBC Sports and Spike TV —and encourage people to do their part to help a good cause.
To date, WD-40/SEMA Cares vehicles have raised more than $775,000 for SEMA Cares charities. “Two of WD-40 Co.’s core values are creating positive lasting memories and making it better than it is today,” said Tim Lesmeister, vice president of marketing at WD-40 Co. “Through SEMA Cares, we’re able to live those values, as well as motivate the aftermarket to support a great cause.”
