The “Affordable Care Act” continues to sow confusion for many SEMA members. You may have read recently that the Obama Administration has delayed implementation of the employer mandate portion of the healthcare law. So what does this development mean for you? While larger SEMA companies will still be required to offer healthcare coverage in 2014, penalties for non-compliance won’t be enforced until 2015.
However, when enforced, these penalties will be severe. It is critical that all SEMA-member companies understand the law and plan accordingly.
"Providing guidance on how the new healthcare law impacts our members is a SEMA priority,” said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO. "While the employer mandate penalties have been delayed for one year, now is the time to become familiar with the law and confirm that your company is already in compliance."
In this user-friendly webinar, healthcare reform expert Kelly Davis of Clifton Larson Allen will provide an overview of the law and focus on key issues company executives should consider for their businesses and workers. Davis' presentation will include details on the employer and individual mandates, tax credits available to small businesses and the insurance exchanges being created to assist smaller companies and individuals in shopping for affordable coverage. She will also be prepared to answer your specific questions.
