Do You Have a Design Project Ready for a Team of Engineering Students?

	The University of California Irvine (UCI) is preparing to kick off its fall 2012 Engineering Design in Industry (EDI) course, September 27, 2012.

Does your company have a design project that you would like a team of engineering students to tackle?

The University of California Irvine (UCI) is preparing to kick off its fall 2012 Engineering Design in Industry (EDI) course, which begins September 27, 2012. This class organizes teams of four senior engineering students, two faculty advisors and your industrial liaison who will spend 10 weeks on a design project that you specify.

The EDI program has been in place at UCI for more than 15 years—successfully completing more than 60 projects from local industries and inventors. Details about the course can be found on the Engineering Design in Industry website.

The Engineering Design in Industry class offers UCI seniors the opportunity to apply the skills they have developed to projects that you need. It is popular with industry colleagues because the result is a feasibility study that provides practical benefits and allows an inside look at the capabilities of UCI’s students.

The class is an elective, so there is not always a match between the numbers of projects and students. Therefore, the class is offered each fall, winter and spring quarter.

If you have a project ready, UCI can include it in the fall 2012 offerings. If you think there is a project on the way in the later part of the year, let UCI know and they can finalize it later.
