Bob Larivee Jr. (JR), 61, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, suffered a massive heart attack and passed away, Sunday, August 26, 2012. Since he was a young man, JR was woven into the fabric of the Autorama and World of Wheels custom car show world with his father, Bob Larivee Sr. As CEO of Champion Auto Shows, Larivee Jr. was a consummate professional who was devoted to his craft, and spent his entire life producing some of the best custom car shows in the country.

“JR was one of the good guys who just got it; he appreciated the cars and cared about people,” said Rick Love, Vintage Air and Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) chairman. “Though reserved at times, he always had a smile and was willing to go the extra mile for anyone. He will be truly missed.”

Larivee Jr. is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bonnie, and two girls, Megan Jean and Lindsey Jo. His daughter Kara Joann preceded him in passing. He was the son of Robert and Kathryn Joan Larivee; brother of Lynn Lee (Pete), Janine (Dave) Carlson, Mark (Sheila) Larivee and Tracy Larivee; brother-in-law of David (Nancy), Gary (Tonia) and Robb Nummer; son-in-law of Richard and Rubyjean Nummer; and business partner of Peter Toundas for 20 years.

The funeral was held August 30, 2012, at Abiding Presence Lutheran Church in Rochester Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations to Leader Dogs for the Blind would be appreciated (P.O. Box 5000, Rochester, MI 48308-5000).
