Power Automedia Hires Mike Magda as EngineLabs Editor
With the launch of its new online magazine, "EngineLabs.com," Power Automedia hired Mike Magda as the EngineLabs editor. According to Power Automedia, Magda has extensive experience in communicating to the automotive industry through print and online media. He has served as editor on four national enthusiast print magazines, including Chevy High Performance, and his stories have appeared in such publications as Engine Technology International, Motor Trend, Automobile, Racecar Engineering, Hot Rod, Automotive Testing Technology and Professional Motorsport World. He has also authored hundreds of automotive technical briefings used for instructional purposes. Joining Magda on the EngineLabs team will be veteran Power Automedia senior tech editor Bobby Kimbrough.

Federated Auto Parts Added as Brembo Distributors

Motorcyclist Magazine Celebrates 100th Anniversary With Commemorative Issues
Motorcyclist magazine is celebrating its 100th anniversary with a full year's worth of commemorative issues in 2012. September's annual "Motorcycle of the Year" issue, currently on sale, will also acknowledge the Motorcycle and Motorcyclist of the Century. All 12 issues during 2012 will feature a special “MC 100” section, which will include a timeline, retrospective stories and photos, tests of period motorcycles and contributions from former staffers.

Meyer Distributing Adds Hagerstown, Maryland Location
Meyer Distributing Inc. added a  new location in  Hagerstown, Maryland. The cross-dock will have a direct feed from Meyer's distribution center in Jasper, Indiana. “The strategic positioning of the Hagerstown crossdock allows Meyer to vastly improve service frequency and delivery times to the DC/Baltimore metroplex," states Fred Sermersheim, Fleet Manager of Meyer Logistics. "The new site has already been fully integrated with our distribution system and technology framework and will take service to a new level for customers in this market."

WyoTech-Laramie Erans Honorable Mention for Community Service
WyoTech-Laramie was awarded an Honorable Mention for community service by the Association of Private Sector Colleges and Universities (APSCU) as part of the association's annual achievement awards. According to Wyo-Tech, the Community Service Award honors a campus that goes above and beyond to implement charitable community programs and engage staff and students in volunteer efforts. More than 1,000 WyoTech-Laramie students logged more than 13,896 volunteer hours providing some form of community service.

Source Interlink Media Appoints David Kennedy Custom Truck Group Publisher
Source Interlink Media appointed David Kennedy as publisher of the Custom Truck Group, which consists of Diesel Power, 8-Lug HD Truck, Truckin’, Mini Truckin’, and RV magazines. Kennedy has been with Source Interlink since 2000 and begins his new position immediately. Kennedy’s started working at 4-Wheel and Off-Road magazine in September of 2000, and then he became tech editor in 2002. He assumed the position of editor of Diesel Power in 2005 shortly after the magazine’s launch and, according to Source Interlink, has been instrumental in its success as the second-bestselling automotive title on the newsstand for the company, as well as the top-selling auto title overall in many key retailers.
