Spy Shots—2011 Regal GS: Buick's Turbo Four-Cylinder AWD Playing in the Rain

Buick Regal GS

Brenda Priddy and her crew of spy shooters grabbed some recent up-close-and-personal shots of the 2011 Buick Regal GS playing in the rain.

Under the hood of the GS is a 2.0L, turbocharged four-cylinder good for at least 255 hp says Priddy, although she reports that some sources have suggested that the final number may now be closer to 270 hp. Either way, that amount of power going to just the front wheels would spell trouble, so Priddy says that the GS will have all-wheel drive.

Other upgrades include Brembo brakes, sportier wheels and tires and a new front fascia with larger air intakes. While the black prototype spotted here did not have the final exhaust tips, a previous sighting of the vehicle (a white Regal GS) revealed the production chrome tips.

Priddy says to watch for production of the Regal GS to start late in Q1, or early in Q2, of 2011 at Oshawa.
