The ’11 DUB-Edition Ford Mustang will be equipped with a 3.7L V6 engine that produces 305 hp and can achieve up to 31 mpg highway.

Ford Motor Company has teamed up with automotive lifestyle magazine DUB to roll out a specially customized version of the new ’11 Mustang in an effort to introduce the car to a whole new generation of buyers.

The DUB-Edition Mustang is based on Ford’s new 3.7L V6 Mustang and will be available this fall. A collaboration between Ford, DUB and Roush Industries, the DUB-Edition Mustang will be offered as a coupe, convertible or glass roof option. Both six-speed manual and automatic transmissions are available.

“We approached Ford and Roush with the DUB package idea eight months ago and we immediately began working together to turn the idea into a reality,” said Myles Kovacs, president and co-founder of DUB magazine. “Here we are eight months later and the 2011 DUB-Edition V6 Mustang is for sale at all Ford dealers nationwide.”

Based on the new 305hp Mustang V6, the DUB Edition will sport 20-inch TIS wheels and Pirelli tires. According to Ford, the coupe’s improved aerodynamics enables it to become the first 300-plus-hp production vehicle to return 30-plus mpg highway.

The DUB-Edition Mustang also will offer a Roush front fascia, fog lamps and a splitter; Roush side splitters; a Roush billet grill with the DUB-Edition emblem; a Roush rear valence; Roush quarter window louvers and a windshield banner; Eibach Performance lowering springs; a 3.31 rear-axle ratio for spirited acceleration; the DUB logo embroidered in the front headrest and a DUB stripe package; a black interior and choice of four exterior colors (black, grabber blue, race red or ingot silver); a Ford Racing hood scoop; and DUB-Edition badges.

“Working with Ford and Roush is an honor and has been a dream come true for DUB,” Kovacs said. “The Mustang is such an iconic musclecar and has always been a customizer's favorite. The DUB-Edition Mustang stays true to its roots, but I think we've successfully brought a ton of hustle to the muscle.”

According to Kovacs, the DUB aftermarket package will not void the factory warranty and a V8 package will be available in 2011. The 2011 DUB-Edition Mustang will be on display November 2–5 at the 2010 SEMA Show in the Las Vegas Convention Center’s South Hall.
