Among the rare, classic and custom vehicles on the block at last weekend’s Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction were two special vehicles that raised money for children in need.

The WD-40/SEMA Cares Camaro—a custom 2010 Camaro SS/RS—was sold for $75,000. Proceeds from the sale will benefit Childhelp and Victory Junction Gang Camp, two charities that SEMA actively supports.

Leading specialty-equipment companies pulled together to contribute to the Camaro build, which features a 6.2L V8 engine outputting more than 600 hp, a body kit, a custom interior and an entertainment system.

Partners in the Camaro build include: APE Wraps; Audio Innovations; Cie Studios; DynoMax; Eclipse; Forgeline Motorsports; GTR High Performance; Haddad Motorsports; Hedman Hedders; House of Tints; Katzkin Leather; L&G Enterprises; MGP Caliper Covers; Nitto Tires; Odyssey Batteries; Paxton Automotive; Pedders USA; PhotoTouch Inc.; PPG Industries; Sony Computer Entertainment America; Street Scene Equipment; and Top Quality Powder Coating.

The second vehicle, the 2010 BFGoodrich/Hurst Mustang, sold for $120,000. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the Mustang benefit the newest Victory Junction Gang Camp in Kansas City, Kansas.

The one and only original pace car from the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge Series, the 2010 BFGoodrich/Hurst Mustang was built by Hurst Performance in conjunction with Woodhouse Auto Family of Blair, Nebraska, and BFGoodrich. The collectible pace car features a 435hp/400 lb.-ft. ROUSH supercharged engine, a Magnaflow exhaust, Wilwood brakes and Hurst-tuned Eibach coilovers, springs and a sway bar.

The BFGoodrich/Hurst Mustang debuted at the Ford Racing Mustang Challenge at Miller Motorsports Park on September 19, 2009. Most recently, the car paced the "Run to Victory Half Marathon and Five Mile Run/Walk" in Randleman, North Carolina, which raised more than $122,000 for Victory Junction Gang Camp.
