NO SALE HERE: American Le Mans Series owner Don Panoz said the series and sanctioning body, IMSA, are "not for sale" during the ALMS stop at Lime Rock Park last weekend.

ANOTHER ONE GONE: Only three weeks after Tony George stepped down, Indianapolis Motor Speedway COO Joie Chitwood III will leave his position at IMS on August 6. He will return to his native Florida, where he has accepted a position with International Speedway Corp. in Daytona Beach.

The victory gave him the overall Sprint Week title by a narrow margin over Bryan Clauson; Donny Schatz earned $50,000 for winning the Kings Royal World of Outlaws sprint-car race at Ohio’s Eldora Speedway; Eddie MacDonald topped the famed Oxford 250; and Nobuhiro Tajima won the Pikes Peak Hill Climb for the fourth-consecutive year.

SUPPORT: Current FIA President Max Mosley endorsed former Ferrari leader Jean Todt as a candidate to replace him when the position comes up for re-election in October.
