Businesses and enthusiasts can visit the SEMA Action Network’s (SAN) website to learn how to title and register hobby cars in each state, meet emissions standards and fight unfair inoperable vehicle storage rules at the local level. The SAN has now added to its resource arsenal a compilation of exhaust noise laws by state.

Thanks to the efforts of several members of the State Automotive Enthusiast Leadership Caucus, the Michigan State Senate issued a resolution commemorating August 2013 as Automotive Heritage Month in the state.

SEMA-supported legislation to provide for the prompt issuance of titles to owners of out-of-state motor vehicles that are 35 years old or older must be signed or vetoed by Governor Pat McCrory by July 26, 2103.

On July 12, 2013, SEMA members joined with SEMA staff and thousands of enthusiasts to celebrate the fourth annual Collector Car Appreciation Day (CCAD). SEMA-supported legislation to provide for the prompt issuance of titles to owners of out-of-state motor vehicles that are 35 years old or older was approved by the full House of Representatives. Having already been passed by the Senate, the bill will now be sent to Governor Pat McCrory for his signature and enactment into law.

SEMA is supporting Pennsylvania legislation to extend the emissions-inspection exemption to vehicles never before registered in the state or any other jurisdiction for five years from the model year in which the vehicle was manufactured.

Legislation to require that motor vehicles display only a single license plate on the rear of the vehicle was approved by the Ohio House Transportation, Public Safety and Homeland Security Committee.

For the second consecutive year, New Mexico Governor Susana Martinez issued a proclamation designating July 12, 2013, as Collector Car Appreciation Day in the state.
