The Young Executives Network (YEN) is hosting a free meetup for local professionals under the age of 40 who work in the various segments of the automotive industry, Saturday, September 29, at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. This is also a great opportunity for industry veterans who are interested in advancing young professionals in the workforce.

All YEN members and those interested in learning about opportunities to get involved with SEMA and build industry connections are encouraged to attend. YEN leadership will be present to discuss the network’s initiatives, volunteer opportunities and additional ways to get more involved.

YEN members who RSVP will receive one complimentary, single-day pass to attend the Off-Road Expo. From off-road racing to rock crawling, trail riding to sand sports, motorcycles and ATVs to camping and adventure travel, attendees will have the unique opportunity to meet and talk with the most knowledgeable people in the off-road industry.

For those who live nearby, stop by and enjoy an evening with fellow YEN colleagues.

For more information, contact SEMA Director of Networks Bryan Harrison at bryanh@sema.org or 909-978-6691.

One vehicle will be displayed in the TORA booth in the Upper South Hall, while the other five will be featured outside of the South Hall. The cost of these spots is $2,000. Joe Mittelman

The Automotive Aftermarket Charitable Foundation (AACF) has announced the passing of founding member Joe Mittelman.

Past CEO of The Mittelman Group for more than 50 years, and former chairman of the Auto Parts & Accessories Association, Mittelman co-founded the organization now recognized as AACF, and has been actively involved in board and committee leadership since its inception.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the Mittelman family, and all whose lives he touched,” said AACF Executive Director Joel Ayres. “Joe was a wonderful, kind and generous man who loved the aftermarket because he loved the people that make up the industry. He was the sort of man that treated everyone with the greatest respect. He was strong, smart, sincere and funny, and he’ll be dearly missed.”

“Joe dedicated his life to helping others through service, including his service to AACF,” said Lynn Parker, AACF board president. “Because of Joe’s dedication and his continued efforts, thousands of lives have been positively impacted. Joe was much more than our colleague—he was our dear friend. He will be deeply missed and will always be remembered.”

Donations in memorial tribute to Joe Mittelman are currently being accepted, with more than $25,000 pledged toward a $100,000 goal.
