The Michigan State Senate adopted a resolution commemorating August 2014 as Automotive Heritage Month in the state.

Thanks to the efforts of State Automotive Enthusiast Leadership Caucus member Senator Michael Kowall, the Michigan State Senate adopted a resolution commemorating August 2014 as Automotive Heritage Month in the state. This action follows U.S. Senate Resolution 493, which designated July 11, 2014, as Collector Car Appreciation Day and was requested by the SEMA Action Network (SAN) to raise awareness of the vital role automotive restoration and collection plays in American society.

Formed in 2005, the State Automotive Enthusiast Leadership Caucus is a bipartisan group of approximately 660 state lawmakers from all 50 states whose common thread is a love and appreciation for automobiles. Supported by the SAN, the Caucus is raising the motor vehicle hobby’s profile in the state legislatures and in the eyes of the public.

Michigan is home to the world-famous Woodward Dream Cruise, which according to the resolution is the world’s largest one-day celebration of classic car culture, attracting more than 1 million visitors and more than 40,000 musclecars, street rods, custom, collector and special interest vehicles to Michigan every year. This year’s cruise takes place August 16.

 sema show press conference
The deadline for 2014 SEMA Show exhibitors to submit applications to conduct a press conference during the Show is August 1.

Applications for SEMA Show Press Conferences are due next Friday, August 1.

Hosting an official press conference can be effective in reaching a large number of media and building relationships. They are, however, a great deal of work and require a large amount of time and effort. Read "What Exhibitors Need to Know Before Hosting a SEMA Show Press Conference" to help you determine whether a press conference is right for you.

SEMA will publish a Media Conference Schedule to be distributed to all attending journalists and posted on www.SEMAShow.com. As a reminder, having a press conference does not guarantee that media will be in attendance and does not entitle exhibitors to receive any media lists.

Due to time limitations, all media conference topics must be pre-approved by SEMA. Press conference topics must be newsworthy. New-Product announcements will only be considered if the product is completely new to the Industry, not just to your company.

Learn more about hosting a successful press conference.

Submit a press conference application.

Upon submitting an application, an automatic message will be emailed to confirm the application was received. If you do not receive a confirmation email, contact Monika Earle at monikae@sema.org, as there may have been technical problems.

For general information or questions about SEMA Show press conferences, contact monikae@sema.org.
