	This year, the Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge championship is split into a dual format in which the top two teams from the 2014 SEMA Show will compete against the top two teams from the 2014 PRI Show.

This year, the sixth-annual Hot Rodders of Tomorrow Engine Challenge championships are split into a dual-championship format in which teams will compete at both the 2014 SEMA Show (November 4–7, in Las Vegas) and the PRI Show (December 11–13, in Indianapolis). From each dual championship, two teams will emerge. These four teams will face off for the 2014 Engine Challenge championship starting Friday, December 12, at 5:00 p.m., and two additional rounds on Saturday at the 2014 PRI Show.

With the SEMA Show quickly approaching, teams are gearing up for the competition. To have a chance at being a championship finalist, teams will likely need to complete the high-performance engine rebuild in less than 20 minutes.

Fifteen teams will compete at the 2014 SEMA Show beginning with the first heat on Tuesday, November 4. Heats continue through Wednesday and Thursday. Each team will compete a total of four times, with their slowest time being thrown out and the other three runs averaged together. In order to meet the growing needs of the automotive aftermarket industry, the Aftermarket Foundation has announced that the organization is actively searching to hire a full-time executive director.

“We are the only not-for-profit charity dedicated solely to helping automotive aftermarket industry members and their families in times of need, and have been doing so very quietly for over 55 years,” stated Aftermarket Foundation President Robert Bob Hirsch. “Our Foundation is presently comprised of 29 trustees, and over 250 supporting associations, corporations and individuals, each of which is committed to helping individuals within our aftermarket ‘family,’ who have fallen on hard times due to catastrophic circumstances, with no place to turn for assistance.”

Hirsch added, “In recent years, we have adopted a number of programs to raise awareness of the foundation, and as a result, demand is growing, we are expanding our reach and meeting the needs of a broader-based and ever-growing number of individuals. We have determined that the time has come to appoint a full-time executive director, whose job it will be to co-ordinate and execute on all our programs of awareness and support.”

Since 1959, the Aftermarket Foundation has assisted individuals and families of the automotive aftermarket industry that have fallen on hard times due to an unexpected death, catastrophic injury, serious illness or financial hardship. Board members are called upon to assist in the fundraising efforts and to also assist in the identification of those in need.

“This should be a challenging but enjoyable and rewarding position for the right candidate,” said Hirsch. “The Aftermarket Foundation is undergoing significant change, and an even further spread of its reach so, while there is much to do, the potential for achievement is fantastic and should be appealing to interested candidates.”

Stadium Super Trucks (SST) and the SEMA Show have partnered to promote the SPEED Energy Formula Off-Road Presented by TRAXXAS events at the MGM Events Center in Las Vegas across from Luxor. With SEMA’s partnership and the additional promotion of the TRAXXAS-sponsored events, the first of two races will take place November 1, and the second race is moving to Thursday night, November 6. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. and racing starts at 7:00 p.m. for both events.
