3D Printing
Using the SEMA Garage’s new Fortus 450mc 3-D printer, members are able to print functional prototypes in up to nine different materials as large as 16x14x16 in.

New materials in the 3-D printing industry are making additive manufacturing relevant for more businesses. With materials such as Nylon 12CF and TPU 92A, prototypes and products that are flexible and durable with a high stiffness-to-weight ratio can be 3-D printed quickly, easily and affordably.

To learn about these new materials and current trends in 3-D printing, sign up for the free, half-day seminar presented by Stratasys at the SEMA Garage, Tuesday, July 30. During “Additive Manufacturing in Automotive,” participants will hear and see firsthand how 3-D printing saves time and money, and is easier than many may realize. Lunch is included, as well as tours of the SEMA Garage.

PRO Reception
Kirstin Stone

July’s “She Is” Member Spotlight is dedicated to Young Executives Network (YEN) Chair Kirstin Stone from Radians.

Check out Stone’s Q&A with SEMA and the SEMA Businesswomen’s Network (SBN) below:

SEMA: What is the best advice you have ever received?

Kirstin Stone: Just jump in! If you want to get involved, quit trying to figure out how to best to do it and just do it.

SEMA: What keeps you involved in this industry?

KS: I've stayed in the industry because there’s a like-mindedness here that I appreciate.

SEMA: On a Saturday, where can you be found?

KS: Either drag racing or working on my ’99 LS-powered Mustang.

SEMA: How do you prepare for going to an important meeting?

KS: Show up a few minutes early, carrying a planner and some caffeine.

SEMA: If you could go to lunch with one industry leader, living or dead, who would it be?

KS: John Menzler. He was the first industry leader that I met, and he actively encouraged my involvement with the councils and networks. It was such a short interaction at a morning networking event that wound up having a huge impact on my career. Knowing what I do now about the aftermarket, I wish I could pick his brain much further.

Fill out your form to be a part of the #SheIsSEMA family. You will have the opportunity to be featured on SBN’s social media, eNews, and have yourself recognized on the www.sema.org/sheissema website.
