  2011 Honda CR-Z

The 2011 Honda CR-Z Measuring Session May 18 from 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. in Torrance, California, and the 2011 Mazda2 Measuring Session May 19 from 8:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. in Irvine, California, is the first time SEMA has held back-to-back measuring sessions.

Members only have to travel to the Los Angeles area once, thereby saving travel costs, unproductive travel time and other expenses.

These dynamic vehicles will most likely draw interest from the same members and represent a unique opportunity to get twice the information in a short amount of time. This is also the first time SEMA has held a hybrid measuring session.

“The CR-Z is the newest in the Honda lineup of hybrid vehicles—a two-seat sports coupe model,” said Bill Wolf, SEMA’s senior director of OEM relations. “SEMA members are invited to attend the first hybrid vehicle measuring session and will set a course for the customization and accessorization of future sporty hybrid and electric vehicles. Since there has been a long history of improved performance specialization at SEMA, this new sporty car should be ripe for any performance enhancements including suspension, supercharging/turbocharging, wheels, brakes, performance exhaust and more. SEMA members will have the opportunity to delve right into this relatively new form of power and figure out how to make it go faster.”

  mazda
  2011 Mazda2

The CR-Z is a two-passenger sport hybrid coupe powered by a 122 hp, 1.5L iVTEC four-cylinder engine with integrated motor assist mated to either a six-speed manual transmission or CVT. Combined EPA estimated fuel economy ratings are 37 mpg.

The Mazda2 is an all-new subcompact sedan powered by a 100hp, 1.5L DOHC four-cylinder engine with variable valve timing mated to either a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission. EPA estimated fuel economy ratings are 28/35 mpg (city/highway).

Registration deadline is Friday, May 14. For questions, contact Bill Wolf, Kelly Clancy or call 909/978-6735. RSVP now.

For more information on these two vehicles, visit Honda and Mazda.
