“Consumers want to know which cars and trucks are the hottest at the SEMA Show,” said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO. “The SEMA Award will help guide them to this year’s most impressive cars and trucks and the great products that make them cool.”

The SEMA Award will be given to the vehicle model that exhibitors choose to trick-out, modify and display most often in their booths. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, November 2, at the SEMA Show.

In anticipation of the announcement, 21 vehicle models have been identified as leading contenders. A list of companies that manufacture products for each contender is available to help consumers see the many ways in which they can modify these cool vehicles. Check out these camo-free photos of a ’12 Dodge Grand Caravan prototype snagged by the spy shooters at Brenda Priddy & Co.

Looking completely production-ready, the new Grand Caravan sports a new grille, bumper and headlights and a redesigned lower fascia. New LED taillights, a restyled bumper and new detailing on the tailgate can be seen at the rear.

Priddy says that the interior looks to be totally redesigned, with a new dash, center stack, gauge pod, shift knob and a new multi-function steering wheel complete with the new Dodge logo. The Stow N' Go seats are said to be more comfortable in the ’12 model and feature a one-touch, fold-down action.

Chrysler's all new 3.6L V6, rated at 283 hp, mated to a six-speed transmission will power the new Caravan, and Priddy says that the suspension has gone through a significant re-work, with added sway bars and an entirely new rear suspension.

Watch for the new Grand Caravan to be at dealers by the start of 2011.
