Nominations for the 2013 SEMA Chair-Elect and Board of Directors are now open. Nominations are due Thursday, January 3, 2013.

The following is a message from SEMA President Chris Kersting:

As a member of the Association, we need your recommendation of industry leaders to serve on the SEMA Board of Directors. Our industry has many individuals who would be an asset to the SEMA Board, but oftentimes those individuals are not immediately apparent to the committee that is responsible for selecting the final candidates.

This year, the SEMA elections have the additional importance in selecting our future Chairman of the Board. Please take a moment and tell us about whom you would recommend as a potential nominee for the Chairman-Elect position, and/or for a Board member position. Please include information to help the nominating committee know more about the qualifications of the nominee, such as background, experience and achievements from a leadership standpoint.

Nominations for the 2013 SEMA Chair-Elect and Board of Directors are due Thursday, January 3, 2013. Please complete and submit the nomination form, and be sure to include the qualification information noted above.

The ’13 Ford Ranger T6.

SEMA, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Commerce, is bringing the new ’13 Ford Ranger T6 to the United States. The one-ton pickup is sold throughout the world, except for the United States and Canada. This is the second vehicle to be imported as part of SEMA's International Vehicle Measuring Program, which makes available difficult-to-access vehicles so that members can measure them and create export-ready products. The Ranger is being introduced by Ford as an alternative to the Toyota HiLux, Nissan Navaro, Mitsubishi Triton and Chevy/Holden Colorado.

The body-on-frame, Australian-designed mid-sized pickup is offered in three cab body styles: Double, Super and Regular. The vehicle available to members is a 4x4 double cab with a 2.5L five-speed gasoline engine.

Members will have access to the vehicle on at least two different dates:

  • Thursday, February 7, 2013: As part of the new SEMA Product Development Conference: Race To Innovate Conference (fees apply)
  • Tuesday, February 12, 2013: Additional days will be added as needed (no charge)

SEMA Product Development Conference/Measuring Session

The Thursday, February 7, manufacturer-only Measuring Session will be held at SEMA's Diamond Bar, California, headquarters as part of the SEMA Product Development Conference: Race to Innovate.

Conference attendees will have the opportunity to measure the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux—the two vehicles imported to the United States through a joint program between the SEMA International Department and the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Cost to participate is $47 for SEMA members ($97 for non-members). Registration includes the education conference, Measuring Session and lunch. Register now for the February 7 combined Measuring Session and SEMA Product Development Conference!

Stand-Alone Measuring Sessions For the Ranger and HiLux
