Kentucky has reintroduced legislation to put in place a new valuation procedure for older vehicles.

Kentucky has reintroduced legislation to put in place a new valuation procedure for older vehicles. Under the bill, vehicles 20 years old or older would no longer be presumed to be in "original factory" or "classic" condition. This measure instead provides three options for assessing the value of these vehicles.

For more information, visit the SEMA Action Network (SAN) website. For details, contact Steve McDonald at stevem@sema.org.

Virginia Senate legislation would exempt antique vehicles from the requirement that exhaust systems be “in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual levels of noise.”

Virginia Senate legislation to exempt antique motor vehicles from the requirement that they have exhaust systems of a type installed as standard factory equipment, or comparable to that designed for use on the particular vehicle as standard factory equipment was reintroduced. The SEMA-supported bill would also exempt antique vehicles from the requirement that exhaust systems be “in constant operation to prevent excessive or unusual levels of noise.”

House legislation would only exempt antique motor vehicles from the requirement that they have exhaust systems of a type installed as standard factory equipment or comparable equipment.
