	Galpin Ford will now install the LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System on Galpin Ford's entire fleet of vehicles.

Galpin Ford Enters Agreement With LoJack
The LoJack Corp., through an agreement with Galpin Ford, will install LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery Systems on Galpin’s fleet of vehicles. LoJack reports that this is the largest agreement of its kind that the company has established with a single dealer. Under the agreement, LoJack will also provide value-added services in dedicated training, installation and marketing. The agreement includes the following: Representatives on-site at Galpin Ford to deliver personalized training on the LoJack System to Galpin’s entire sales staff;  a team of certified installation representatives on-site at Galpin Ford to install the LoJack System in the dealership’s fleet; LoJack will work with Galpin representatives on several initiatives, including analyzing customer traffic flow, to provide insights into what attracts customers’ attention within the dealership; and the LoJack Corp. will develop customized, co-branded collateral on the LoJack System that will enable Galpin to distribute educational marketing materials to customers.

Source Interlink Promotes Jordan Mastagni to Editor-in-Chief of Baggers
Source Interlink Media has promoted Jordan Mastagni to editor-in-chief of Baggers, a publication within the American Motorcycle Group. Mastagni began his tenure in motorcycle journalism in October 2006, when he began working as an editorial assistant for Hot Bike, Street Chopper and Hot Rod’s Bike Works. Within six months, he was promoted to associate editor of Hot Bike. In late 2010, Mastagni was promoted to senior editor of Hot Bike. He was moved to Baggers this past May, where he served as editor until this most recent promotion.

Holley Launches NOS Installation and Tuning Videos
Holley Performance Products launched NOS Nitrous Oxide Systems installation and tuning videos on YouTube. A total of 18 videos are available and cover a wide variety of subjects, including how nitrous oxide works; complete kit overviews; installation details; operation; tuning and more. The Petersen Automotive Museum recently received two vehicles to add to its world-class collection of more than 400 vehicles—“Double Dozen,” a hand-built roadster with a design based on a ’33 Ford, and “Victoria,” an immaculate ’63 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III.

The late Jeffrey Chandler, a descendant of the family that built the Los Angeles Times, commissioned a hot rod design by Chris Ito and Steve Frisbee and built by Steve’s Auto Restorations. “Double Dozen” was created to compete for “America’s Most Beautiful Roadster” (AMBR) in the 2011 Grand National Roadster Show, the longest running indoor car show in the world. The handcrafted hot rod won Outstanding Paint, Outstanding Interior, Outstanding Engineering, Outstanding Undercarriage, and Outstanding Display, and went on to win the Goodguys Streetrod d’Elegance 2011.

Four-time Emmy Award winner John Frankenheimer, director of 51 different films, including iconic car movies, such as Grand Prix (1966) and Ronin (1998), was a dyed in the wool “car guy.” While filming The Train (1964) on location in France, Frankenheimer took his wife to London to buy some clothing. After visiting the tailor, the couple walked in the pouring rain to visit a Rolls-Royce dealer. The dealer had one Rolls-Royce and one Bentley. The Rolls-Royce was a better fit for Frankenheimer and his wife, so the two ordered a bespoke model right on the spot. They paid for the car in French francs, and because it was the weekend, the banks were closed and the dealer did not have a safe, the cash was locked in the gloveboxes of the cars in the showroom.

“Victoria” (named after the Queen) has spent nearly 50 years in the family’s service, including four trips to Europe and travel to movie sets around the world. Victoria joins several other vehicles the Frankenheimer’s have donated to the museum, including a 1947 Oldsmobile, and a custom pair of matching Mercedes-Benzes.

“We are thrilled to receive both of these outstanding donations,” said Petersen Automotive Museum Chief Curator Leslie Kendall. “Not only are they beautiful vehicles, but they are also important because of the stories that they can help tell about two local families that have had influence around the world.”

Both vehicles have been placed on exhibition in places of honor within the Petersen Automotive Museum. “Double Dozen” is showcased in the hot-rod exhibit in the Bruce Meyer Gallery. “Victoria” is one of the stars in the museum’s popular Hollywood Gallery.

Jagged X drivers Matt Parks and Jason Spiess took the checkered in their #1932 Polaris RZR UTV in the PRO UTV class, closely followed by teammates Brandon Schueler and Blake Van De Loo’s #1919 Polaris.

Jagged X’s third entry – the #1991, driven by Bill Schueler and Mike West, took top honors in the Sportsman Class. None of the vehicles had a single tire failure, with the PRO UTV vehicles competing on Falken’s WildPeak All-Terrain off-the-shelf tires, sized 30x9.50 R15, and the Sportsman entry also running stock, original-equipment WildPeaks, sized 235/70 R15.

Created and hosted by the City of Henderson, Nevada, the 2012 Henderson 250 marked the 11th year for this race. The start/finish line, as well as the course and spectator areas, were located in nearby Jean, Nevada.

Quarter Mile Foundation to Produce “Voices From the Tower”
Traci Hrudka, chairman of the Quarter Mile Foundation, has announced the Foundation has begun production of a special, introductory volume DVD for the PROJECT 1320 documentary, entitled “Voices From the Tower.”

“The DVD uses portions of the interviews of three legendary drag-racing announcers: Bob Frey, Jon Lundberg and Dave McClelland,” said Hrudka. With more than 20 hours of interviews of the three men, and 150 years of announcing experience between them, ‘Voices From the Tower’ should give the audience a very broad overview of how the sport grew and evolved.”

Dan Koterba (Atlanta), who has conducted and filmed the majority of the interviews, is overseeing the production. Koterba observed, “We want to let the drag-racing community and fans get a feel for the look and the texture of the documentary. It will not be a complete ‘interview-by-interview’ production, but rather a number of people who will be discussing a range of topics; and the interviews will be edited in such a manner to present several perspectives. In ‘Voices From the Tower,’ you’ll find them making their observations about the events and situations they viewed as announcers, plus offering commentary about topics we might not expect to hear from them.”

“Voices From the Tower” will be priced at $20 plus shipping and handling from the Quarter Mile Foundation website. The production work is currently underway, with an anticipated release in early 2013.

Yokohama-sponsored driver Tyler McQuarrie helped lead the Motorsport Solutions/Ehret Family Winery Porsche 911 to victory at the 25-hour, 1,953-mile 25 Hours of Thunderhill endurance contest, December 8–9 at Thunderhill Raceway Park in Willows, California.

McQuarrie, with co-drivers Memo Gidley, Pierre Ehert, Christian Bollrath and Anthony Ward, drove to a 16-lap victory in the 10th running of the National Auto Sport Association’s United States Air Force-sponsored sports car contest.
