Just as last year, this year’s PRO group will tour Mcity—the world’s first full-scale simulated urban environment designed for testing autonomous and driverless vehicles in real-world situations.

Connected and automated vehicle technologies, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and other mobility options will significantly improve safety. The aftermarket industry is playing an increasingly important role in retrofitting and installing many of these systems and technologies on the 250-million vehicles already on U.S. roads.

Join SEMA at the Detroit Metro Airport Marriott, Wednesday, June 14, from 3:00 p.m.–6:30 p.m., for an exclusive educational and networking event where a panel of experts will discuss how advanced-vehicle technology is transforming the automotive and aftermarket industries, and explore the challenges and opportunities posed by evolving vehicle technologies and mobility options.

Attendees will also hear from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), Michigan District Office. The SBA will share insights on how to finance your business growth through help with working capital, real estate, business acquisition, debt refinancing, export finance and more.

The educational programs will be immediately followed by an exclusive, invite-only networking mixer.

As an added bonus, on the following morning, attendees will be invited to tour both the American Center for Mobility and the innovative Mobility Transformation Facility, more commonly known as “Mcity,” at the University of Michigan. The 32-acre facility is located on campus, and is the first of its kind in testing new automated vehicle technologies and their capabilities to safely maneuver actual roadways. Hosted by SEMA’s Professional Restylers Organization (PRO), attendees will enjoy a guided private tour of the facility.

The cost is $25 for SEMA members and $35 for non-members. Fees include the education program, networking mixer and optional tour (June 15).

Thanks to your efforts, the 2017 RPM Act continues to gather momentum! Many of you recently joined fellow industry leaders at the 2017 SEMA Washington Rally to talk to lawmakers and urge swift congressional action on this critical legislation.  

You also supported the Rally on social media. The hashtag #SaveOurRacecars generated more than 1,073 uses on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram during the Rally. More than 890 social-media users posted in support of SEMA’s Thunderclap campaign, reaching 394,765 people.

This energy encouraged enthusiasts from across the country to send more than 900 letters in support of the RPM Act, which helped add key congressional supporters. The bill now has more than 150 co-sponsors in the House and Senate combined, and the number is growing every day!  

At the Rally, SEMA found that many friends in Congress are committed to passing the bill this year and protecting motorsports for future generations.

Thank you again for your ongoing support and enthusiasm!
