SEMA-supported legislation (H.B. 2357) that was signed into law in 2005 to exempt qualified collectible vehicles from the state’s emissions inspection and maintenance program will go into effect June 1.

SEMA-supported legislation (H.B. 2357) that was signed into law in 2005 to exempt qualified collectible vehicles from the state’s emissions inspection and maintenance program will go into effect June 1. Implementation of the exemption was delayed by the state’s regulatory process.

In order to qualify, a vehicle must be either 15 model years old or older or be of a unique or rare design, of limited production and an object of curiosity. In addition, vehicles must be maintained primarily for use in car club activities, exhibitions, parades or other functions of public interest, or for a private collection, and is used only infrequently. Additionally, the vehicle must have collectible or classic automobile insurance coverage that restricts the vehicle’s mileage or use, or both, and requires the owner to have another vehicle for personal use.

The current exemptions for pre-’67 vehicles also remain in effect.

For more information, visit the SEMA Action Network (SAN) website.

Sara Morosan
Sara Morosan

April’s SEMA Businesswomen’s Network (SBN) “She Is Spotlight” features Sara Morosan of LGE-CTS Motorsports.

SEMA: What is the best advice you have ever received?

Sara Morosan: To believe in myself. Never let someone tell you that you can’t do something. Only you can put limitations on yourself.

SEMA: What keeps you involved in this industry?

SM: I work in an industry with people who love what they do, just like me. I have never met a more inspirational and driven group of people ever who just want to make things happen.

SEMA: On a Saturday, where can you be found?

SM: If there is an off-road race going on, I am most likely there. If not, I am out off-roading or at some type of motorcycle/car event hanging with my family.

SEMA: How do you prepare for going to an important meeting?

SM: Be as open-minded as possible. I learn so much in meeting with others, and I love to hear others’ points of view and ideas. I am always prepared to take notes and try to come with notes on the topic at hand to make sure I am contributing as well.

SEMA: If you could go to lunch with one industry leader, living or dead, who would it be?

SM: I would love to have lunch with GiGi Carleton. She has been such an inspiration to me. I was so excited when she was inducted into the 2017 SEMA Hall of Fame. She helped start the first-ever SEMA Show and has accomplished so much throughout the years. Plus, she has some pretty amazing stories to share.

Fill out this form to be a part of the #SheIsSEMA family. You will have the opportunity to be featured on SBN’s social media, SEMA eNews and be recognized on the www.sema.org/sheissema website. While there, check out other inspirational women who are leading the industry and are paving the path for future success.
