New Products Showcase
Create connections with new buyers by spotlighting your latest and signature products in the SEMA Show New Products Showcase.

The SEMA Show New Products Showcase serves as an extra avenue for exhibitors to reach new customers. More than just a collection of the industry’s latest innovations, the Showcase serves as a valuable marketing tool during and after the Show.

Each entry displayed is accompanied with product information and traditional signage for the convenience of buyers to research and locate companies during the Show. The products are also photographed, and the photographs and product details are used for post-Show-promotion to media and made available on www.SEMAphotos.com.

The first entry in the New Products Showcase is free. Additional entries are $75 per product category if received by Friday, October 7; $150 thereafter.

More About the New Products Showcase

  • Location and Check-in System—The 2016 New Products Showcase will be located on the Skybridge of the Las Vegas Convention Center, between Central and South Halls. The location allows organizers to streamline the product check-in/-out system, resulting in a faster and easier process for exhibitors.

  • Option to Ship Products—Exhibitors can have their product(s) shipped to the Showcase in advance. Once on-site, they will need to visit the Showcase prior to Monday, October 31, at 3:00 p.m., to unpack and check-in the product(s), but the product(s) will already be waiting in the Showcase area. At the end of the Show, exhibitors also can skip product check-out and choose to have UPS package and ship the product(s) on their behalf.

  • Exposure for Your Existing Products—The “Featured Products” category provides an avenue to include products that do not meet the criteria for “new.” A little more than 20% of all Show buyers will attend the Show for the first time in 2016, so the Featured Product category is valuable for promoting an existing line to new customers.

In late May, 20 SEMA-member companies ventured to Melbourne, Australia, for the inaugural SEMA Australia Business Development Program. This latest target market for the SEMA overseas development program joined similar programs in China, Russia and the Middle East.

While Australia is nearly the same size geographically as the United States, the population is about the same as that of Texas. There are 17.6 million registered vehicles in Australia (more than 1 million sold annually, with a record 1,155,408 sold in 2015). Australia’s geographic size but relatively small population helps explain the reliance of Australians on their vehicles. In fact, Australia has the highest vehicle ownership per capita in the world: 747 vehicles per 1,000 residents.

Jeep 2015 SEMA Show
Exhibitors can use the Project-Vehicle Builders form to offer parts to builders planning to construct a project vehicle for the 2016 SEMA Show.

Exhibitors at the 2016 SEMA Show are invited to expand their reach, product exposure and Show-floor presence by offering products to builders through the Products for Project-Vehicle Builders list. The list connects manufacturers with builders looking to create or complete a vehicle project—offering exhibitors the additional exposure of their product displayed on today’s hottest custom vehicles.

Updated each week in SEMA eNews, the association’s electronic newsletter, the list features product offers and contact information provided by confirmed SEMA Show exhibitors. Builders interested in obtaining a product can use the information listed to contact exhibitors directly. With all project vehicles required to be supported by a current 2016 SEMA Show exhibitor, all product-placement decisions, negotiations and agreements are the responsibility of the exhibiting manufacturer and the builder.

Exhibitors: Each submission will appear on a first-come, first-served basis beginning June 2016. All submissions are due by Friday, October 7, 2016.

Builders: If you are building a vehicle for the 2016 SEMA Show, consider submitting an application to participate in the Battle of the Builders competition. The competition will be held during SEMA Ignited—an extravaganza that will close out the 2016 SEMA Show, and includes food, music, celebrities, iconic builders and displays. The event gives the public, media, SEMA Show exhibitors, attendees and guests a rare opportunity to collect and share images of hundreds of customized vehicles featuring the newest and most innovative products from the SEMA Show. Battle of the Builders features elite automotive builders from across the nation competing for the title of Top Builder. For more information, visit www.semaignited.com.

Note: For verification purposes, the Project-Vehicle Builders form must be used to participate in the program; email submissions will not be included in the list. Participation in the list does not guarantee product or vehicle placement at the 2016 SEMA Show.

The list is open to exhibitors of the 2016 SEMA Show only. Exhibitors: To be included in the list, access the form online.

Each company is provided a turnkey booth at a local specialty-equipment show. “The SEMA Middle East Business Development Program was a perfect opportunity for us as a new entrant to the Middle Eastern market,” said Michael Sampson (left), director of operations and foreign sales for Rock-Slide Engineering. “Attending the SEMA Middle East Business Development Program allowed us to find our first customers and begin what should be a long and profitable relationship in the Middle East for Rock-Slide Engineering.”

Visiting speed and off-road shops is on the SEMA Middle East Business Development Program schedule.

Join SEMA for the sixth-annual Middle East Business Development Conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), March 28–April 1, 2017.

The following is included:

  • A turnkey booth at the Custom Show Emirates—the largest specialty-equipment show in the Middle East.
  • A hands-on workshop with vehicles popularly customized throughout the Middle East but not sold in the United States.
  • Hotel accommodations and all meals.
  • Tours of local speed and off-road shops.
  • A briefing with U.S. government officials and seasoned exporters on the “do’s and don’ts of setting up successful distribution in the region.”
  • Pre-trip support and a pre-trip briefing on what to bring and what to expect.

What your peers are saying about the SEMA Middle East trip:

“Participation was excellent this year and gave the attendees a great opportunity to share their passions with top-tier custom, racing and performance businesses in the Middle East. “It was another successful event, not only for creating new opportunities but also for gaining the knowledge to create export-ready products for key markets.”

—Wade Kawasaki, CEO, Coker Tire, and chair-elect, SEMA Board of Directors

“If you are a manufacturer and have no distribution in the area, these trips are a no-brainer. SEMA sets you up with prescreened buyers and gives you the opportunity to talk business. If you already have distribution in place, that’s even better. The program gives you the opportunity to go talk to your customers and see what really drives their businesses.”

—Sean Crawford, director of marketing and business development, JE Pistons

“We participated in 2015 and again in 2016, even though at first we were a little skeptical at the potential our BOLT products would have in the GCC countries, primarily because our target market is for pickups and SUVs. We were pleasantly surprised to see many of these vehicles on the streets in 2015, including Jeeps, Toyota HiLuxes and Land Cruisers. The Nissan SUV Patrol is super popular, as are American pickups, including those from Chevy, GMC and Ford. We are now working with two distributors in the area as well as two retailers/installers.”

—Erika Garcia, sales manager, BOLT Locks

“The only way to understand this region is to go there yourself. Talk to business owners, talk to consumers and make your own opinions. We can’t successfully run our manufacturing business and plan our company’s future based on hearsay and opinions from others. What you learn on these SEMA trips would not be learned by traveling around in a rental car. SEMA does an excellent job of acclimating you to these business climates during the event. I welcome anyone to call me and learn more.”

—Steve Whipple, vice president of sales, Edelbrock LLC

“For more information on how to exhibit, visit the SEMA website or contact Linda Spencer. For a recap of last year’s event, read the SEMA News article or view video highlights of the 2016 event.
