Bobby Alloway of Alloway’s Hot Rods and Craig Wick of Wicked Fabrication unveiled their latest creations on the opening day of the 2016 SEMA Show. The vehicles were revealed in the shared display for SEMA’s Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) and Automotive Restoration Market Organization (ARMO) councils (booth #23395).

Buick

Since 1991, Alloway’s Hot Rod Shop has been known to produce timeless hot rods by forging musclecar attitude with hot-rod craftsmanship. His ’65 Buick Riviera continues that commitment to unique style. The Riviera, owned by Larry & Carol Olson, is powered by a Chevrolet Big Block 502 c.i. with a American Powertrain Tremec 5-speed transmission. Features of the build include an Art Morrison front clip, Currie Enterprises rear control arms and rear end, Alloway custom 5-spoke wheels by Billet Specialties and modified openings to fit the wheels. 

Ford Coupe

Craig Wick and his crew at Wicked Fabrication have a reputation of crafting high-quality builds. The latest build, ’51 Ford Coupe, owned by Bruce Leven, features custom styling inspired by the look of vintage race cars. The Coupe sports a custom Art Morrison chassis with an independent front suspension. The handmade aluminum hood and one-off grille provide a visual cue that compliments the Coupe’s vintage race car styling.

The ARMO-HRIA booth (booth #23395) will spotlight six cars—three representing the restoration market, and three representing the hot-rod segment.

On the opening day of the annual SEMA Show, Mike and Jim Ring of Ringbrothers pulled the cover off their newest builds: including the the ’48 “Madam V” Cadillac and ’69 “G-Code” Camaro.

’48 “Madam V” Cadillac

“Madam V,” commissioned by car dealership mogul Wes Rydell, melds early- and late-model Cadillacs to create a one-of-a-kind Cadillac with the benefits of a modern car and the style of a vintage Cadillac. The project utilized four cars in total to create one master piece, including two 1948 fastback coupes, a used 2015 Cadillac ATS-V and a brand new 2016 Cadillac ATS-V, all provided by Mr. Rydell. The Madam also retains many of the technology features from the ’16 ATS-V including the info and media control with full color display, rear vision camera, Push-to-Start, rain-sensing wipers and even OnStar auto crash response.

The “G-Code” Camaro was built to stand apart from the bounty of muscle cars at the SEMA Show with unique bodywork, hand crafted carbon fiber elements and its abundance of high-quality Ringbrothers billet products. Wisconsin native and “G-Code” owner Don Atkinson always had a desire to own a 1969 Camaro RS. He loved the design by GM, but he didn’t want just any 1969 Camaro – he wanted a truly unique, one-of-a kind Camaro that no one else in the world would have, so he went to Ringbrothers.

Highlighting the line of upcoming additions to Federal Tire’s lineup is the new EVOLUZION ST-1, a road worthy performance tire that expands off the 595 series of tires.

Federal Tire previewed of a whole new line of performance tire options during the 2016 SEMA Show. Federal Tire is widely known for its track-proven, street-driven 595 RS-RR tire and an aggressive, yet affordable, Mud Terrain branded the Couragia MT, but that line up will greatly expanded this week.

Highlighting the line of upcoming additions is the new EVOLUZION ST-1, a road worthy performance tire that expands off the 595 series of tires. Like the other options in the 595 line, the new ST-1 will have a track-developed tread design, high-grip compound to deliver extraordinary handling with budget in mind.

In addition to the North American debut of the ST-1, Federal will preview a new Rally Tarmac tire called the T-10 that is designed to outperform in wet and dry conditions, some conceptual Mud Terrain/Light Truck tires in their Xplora series and an announcement of the company’s continued sponsorship of Global Time Attack and the King of Nations Drift Series.

With both the Toyota Corolla and the SEMA Show celebrating 50th anniversaries, Toyota is taking the theme of past, present and future to literal extremes with its Central Hall booth (#24800). Six exhibit pods examine the legacies and developments of key Toyota vehicles—including the Corolla, GT-86, Land Cruiser, Prius, Sienna and Tacoma—while six “extreme” vehicle builds conceptualize what the future might hold for these models if their designs were pushed beyond the outer limits.

“The future is an important word for Toyota this year,” said Dan Gardner, general manager, Gardner Communications, spokesman for the automaker. “Obviously the SEMA Show is about extreme vision, but what if you stacked it and staged it in reference to the past and the present and look at extreme as almost a Sci-Fi future? These are cars that could be, or a direction Toyota might go. Who knows? It’s the stuff of dreams, the stuff of imagination.”

The display vehicles run the gamut from drivable concepts to total flights of fancy. “In our six builds you’re going to see a variety of cars that you can imagine using everyday on the street, using once and a while and maybe not using at all and being a showpiece,” summed up Gardner.
