In addition to the dedicated International Lounge and translators that are available each year to help motorsports professionals from all over the world conduct business, PRI Trade Show officials will host international media from key regions to facilitate global coverage of the event.

The global presence of the 2018 Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Trade Show, held December 6–8, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, will increase significantly as a result of new media outreach efforts and PRI Show resources aimed at making the motorsports trade show even more conducive to international business and exposure.

In addition to the dedicated International Lounge and translators that are available each year to help motorsports professionals from all over the world conduct business, Show officials will host international media from key regions to facilitate global coverage of the PRI Trade Show. Special events, such as the annual International Council of Motorsport Sciences (ICMS) Congress, International Motorsports Trade Seminar and the new International Networking Reception, cater to the global racing industry.

“Every year, thousands of attendees from more than 70 countries attend the PRI Trade Show to see the latest trends and products in the global motorsports industry,” said PRI General Manger Bill Miller. “Because of motorsports’ unrivaled international presence and the growth in racing series and events, such as the FIA World Rally Cross Championship, 24 Hours of Le Mans and Formula 1 racing, we increased our media activities and overall international outreach efforts.”

The International Lounge, a dedicated area designed specifically to meet the needs of international attendees, features private meeting rooms, Wi-Fi, printer access, credential badge pickup and interpreters from several countries who are available by appointment at no charge to assist during meetings. Visitors can also enjoy an espresso or a cup of tea in a relaxed atmosphere with other racing industry businesspeople from all over the world.

Visas are required for all international travel into the United States, and PRI can provide a Visa letter to attendees once they have registered for the PRI Show. The PRI housing team can also assist in securing a hotel room by calling 949-499-2044 or 866-635-6600, or via email at travel@performanceracing.com.

The 2018 PRI Trade Show will feature more than 1,100 companies exhibiting in more than 3,300 booths and showcasing the latest developments in auto-racing technology. In addition, the days leading up to and including the PRI Show, known as Race Industry Week, will offer a range of motorsports-related activities in and around the Indiana Convention Center, beginning Monday, December 3. Numerous conferences, seminars and other special events will offer unlimited business opportunities and provide insight on the latest technologies and how to apply them throughout the racing world.

Exhibitors can increase their exposure by purchasing an upgrade option that includes placement in the Featured Products Preview section of the official PRI Trade Show Guide, published as the November issue of Performance Racing Industry magazine, as well as inclusion in the 2019 Products Preview section in the PRI Show wrap-up issue in early 2019. Both listings will include a photo, company name and product description. In addition, upgraded companies will be listed on Featured Products Showcase meter board signage at all entrances to the 2018 PRI Show.

The monthly SEMA Industry Indicators Report provides a high-level snapshot of the overall U.S. economy with an emphasis on economic data that directly or indirectly affects the automotive aftermarket industry and your business.

The first half of 2018 is in the books and the economy continues to show resilience and strength, despite several concerns, including geopolitical uncertainties, accelerating oil and gasoline prices, trade wars and inflationary pressures, just to name a few.

On many fronts, the economy looks stronger than it has over the past few years. Demand is up across diverse industries and companies are investing to meet that demand, including hiring. In June, 601,000 workers entered or returned to the labor market. Over the next six months, pent-up demand, tax cuts and a relaxed regulatory environment will continue to provide momentum and boost economic activity.

To learn more, download the July SEMA Industry Indicators Report, now available from SEMA Market Research. This monthly report provides a high-level snapshot of the overall U.S. economy with an emphasis on economic data that directly or indirectly affects the automotive aftermarket industry and your business. Affected industries represented include statewide environmental and conservation groups, local governments, the general public, public utilities, small business, manufacturing, solid waste, oil and gas and agriculture groups.

In addition, it establishes an Environmental Permit Review Commission and creates an Environmental Science Board to advise on issues affecting the protection of the environment or management of the state’s natural resources.

South Carolina
With Governor Henry McMaster’s signature, a bill aiding and incentivizing the construction of motorsports complexes became law.

With Governor Henry McMaster’s signature, a bill aiding and incentivizing the construction of motorsports complexes became law. The South Carolina legislature recognized the important economic and civic value that additional motorsports can provide. The new law will help pave the way for new racing facilities in the state. A motorsports tourism incentive fund will be created to award grants or loans to attract and expand tourism and hospitality projects related to events at such complexes. The new law exempts certain building materials for a complex from sales tax and provides a process by which a qualified company may claim the exemption.
