SEMA Data Co-op
The SEMA Data Co-op is offering free data-management consultations in booth #20679 during Show week.

The SEMA Data Co-op (SDC) team will be out in full force during Show week, offering free data-management consultations in Booth #20679 and demonstrating its services to buyers in a second location—the Grand Lobby in SEMA Central.

“We are very excited about this year’s SEMA Show,” said Mike Spagnola, SEMA vice president of OEM and product development. “With two specialized SDC booth locations, we will be able to talk to more manufacturers and buyers at the Show.

“In addition, we are spotlighting manufacturers who have achieved Platinum status in the SDC. Platinum status means that buyers can expect the best and most complete data in the marketplace from that manufacturer to populate their website, computer or anywhere else they need catalog and point-of-sale data. Make sure you stop by these manufacturers’ booths and ask them if you can receive their data through the SDC.”

To learn more about how to receive data from the SDC or to become an SDC member, stop by the SDC booth in SEMA Central for a free five-minute demo or to sign up and start using the industry’s most complete product data.

Additionally, the SDC is scheduling meetings in Booth #20679 every hour from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. during the Show (until Friday at 4:00 p.m.). The SDC booth is located behind the Ford display in Central Hall, one level above the Show floor in the raised meeting room.

“The SEMA Data Co-op is the only industry-owned and -operated product-data repository with all the tools and expert assistance to get your data in order,” said Jim Graven, senior director of membership. “Data receivers love our program, which provides unlimited data exports at no charge to SEMA members.”

October’s #SheIsSEMA goes out to Kathryn Reinhardt. Over the past few years, Reinhardt has accomplished some amazing things. In 2015, she was named SEMA Person of the Year, along with being elected the Truck and Off-Road Alliance (TORA) chair.

The SEMA Businesswomen’s Network (SBN) started #SheIsSEMA to bring a spotlight to the accomplished, influential women of the industry. Read the insightful Q&A with Reinhardt below:

SEMA: What is the best advice you have ever received?
Kathryn Reinhardt: Don’t take “no” for an answer. Find a way to make it "yes."

SEMA: What keeps you in the industry?
KR: I enjoy being able to tell people I work in the automotive industry. Partly because they are surprised I am a woman in automotive, but also because I am getting paid to do what I love.

SEMA: On a Saturday, where can you be found?
KR: Attending local car shows, travelling to national events or teaching my toddler boys how to drift their big wheels.

SEMA: How do you prepare for going to an important meeting?
KR: I take notes and ask questions. I want to learn more and remember it for future opportunities.

SEMA: If you could go to lunch with one industry leader, living or dead, who would it be?
KR: Linda Vaughn. I bet she has some crazy stories about how the industry used to be and how she overcame being a female in this industry. I’m sure she has some sound advice for all of us.

If you or an SBN member you know deserves to be recognized in a #SheIsSEMA Spotlight, fill out this form to be considered for a feature. Not an SBN member? Fill out this form to join today.

SEMA Show Mobile App

The SEMA Show mobile app is available at no cost at app stores and www.SEMAShow.com/app.

Showgoers can now download the official 2018 SEMA Show mobile app to begin creating a personalized plan to get the most of their time at the exclusive event. The free app provides users a comprehensive list of the 2,400 exhibiting companies, details on the more than 100 seminars, a complete schedule of all the events happening at the Show and more.

“The updated, responsive SEMA Show mobile app is the one tool that all attendees should download,” said SEMA Trade Shows Director Tom Gattuso. “It’s designed to keep Showgoers informed, on time and in touch so they can return to their businesses having taken advantage of all the Show has to offer.”

New this year is a comprehensive New Products Showcase feature that makes it easier than ever for Showgoers to see the hottest products displayed at the SEMA Show. Mobile app users can view all of the products entered into the New Products Showcase, complete with detailed information and photos, the case in which the product is displayed, and directions to the exhibitor’s booth on the Show floor. Additionally, the app enables Showgoers to use their phones as a scanner at the New Products Showcase to create a list and map of the scanned products.

The enhanced “Locate Me” feature uses a SEMA Show floorplan built into the app to find the quickest route from one place to another without the need of a GPS or data service. Simply enter an exhibitor name or room nearest to you and where you want to go, and the app will provide directions for the quickest route there.

Other features of the 2018 SEMA Show mobile app include:

  • The ability to search all exhibitors by name, category or location.
  • A map of the entire floorplan, including every hall and display area.
  • A list of all events, seminars and conferences, sorted by day and time.
  • A list of celebrity appearances, including date, time and location.
  • A list of speakers, including date, time and location.
  • Feeds of the official SEMA Show social media accounts, including Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

The 2018 SEMA Show mobile app can be downloaded at no cost from the Apple App Store, Google Play Store or www.SEMAShow.com/app.
