SEMA BATTLE OF THE BUILDERS TOP TEN FINALISTS ANNOUNCED
Winner to be Announced Friday, November 7 at SEMA Ignited

LAS VEGAS, NV. (Nov. 6, 2014) - The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) has announced the Top Ten finalists in the SEMA Battle of the BuildersTM competition, which determines the builder the aftermarket community considers best.

The Battle of the Builders competition started with 129 vehicle builders and car customizers who entered 165 vehicles into this first-ever competition.  These builders represent an elite group of individuals who have demonstrated extreme talent, creativity and craftsmanship in modifying cars, trucks and SUVs.  

The 2014 Battle of the Builders finalists are (in alpha order):

  • Bobby Alloway, 1937 Chevy Coupe
  • Gordon Aram, 1978 Ford Mustang II
  • Ringbrothers, 1966 Chevy Chevelle
  • Dale Dondel, 2014 Ford Raptor Pre-Runner
  • Rick Dore, 1948 Jaguar
  • Jeff Kinsey, 1932 Ford 4-Door Sedan
  • Troy Ladd, 1932 Ford Roadster
  • Larry McRae, Jeep JK
  • Steve Strope, 1967 Ford Black Ops Fairlane
  • Kyle Tucker, 1969 Chevy Camaro

Editors of leading automotive magazines - Sam Du from Super Street, David Freiburger from Hot Rod, and Fred Williams from Petersen's 4Wheel & Off Road selected the Top Ten builders. These ten finalists will now judge one another and vote to determine who will be named the Ultimate Builder of the 2014 SEMA Battle of the BuildersTM.

The SEMA Battle of the BuildersTM competition is the foundation for a nationwide television special that will be filmed at the inaugural SEMA Ignited, taking place after the trade-only SEMA Show closes, on Friday, November 7, from 4-10 pm at The LINQ (3545 S Las Vegas Blvd.). Hundreds of vehicles will exit the Las Vegas Convention Center after the SEMA Show for the SEMA Cruise and make their way to SEMA Ignited. Exhibitors, products and celebrities from the SEMA Show will be on-hand at The LINQ, along with food trucks, music and entertainment.

SEMA Ignited is open to consumers and allows attendees a chance to see the latest automotive accessories on many of the 2014 SEMA Show vehicles that were on display during the 2014 SEMA Show.
