INAUGURAL SEMA TECHNICAL SKILLS & TRAINING CONFERENCE ANNOUNCED
Program targeted to installers and restylers includes live demonstrations and manufacturer-led workshops

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (March 1, 2010) – The Professional Restylers Organization (PRO), a council of the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), is launching a new one-day training program where installers and restylers will be able to learn about new products and hear directly from industry manufacturers.

Taking place Friday, April 30, at the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, Ohio, the 2010 Technical Skills & Training Conference (TSTC) will give installers and restylers the unique opportunity to meet first-hand with dozens of manufacturers in focused workshops and live product demonstrations.

With training starting at 8:00 am and concluding at 4:00 pm, the event will include 12 one-hour sessions presented by PRO-member manufacturing companies. Two sessions will run concurrently throughout the day, allowing participants to select and attend up to six seminars on topics such as leather, sunroofs, 12-volt/A6 electrical, truck accessories (towing and suspension and diesel performance) and self-adhesive (paint, film and wrapping).

Participants may also choose to attend one of many live installation demos taking place in the University’s shop area. Demonstrations, also led by manufacturers, will be conducted in a “bullpen” fashion so that attendees can watch multiple installs in one shop area.
The PRO council will be holding an open meeting at the conclusion of the conference, followed by a mixer/reception at 6:00 p.m. All TSTC attendees are welcome to attend both the open meeting and the mixer.

Cost to attend the conference is $25 and includes a catered lunch, the open meeting and the networking reception. If more than one company representative plans to attend, the fee is only $15 per each additional employee. Details and registration is available at www.sema.org/pro or from Zane Clark at zanec@sema.org, 909/396-0289, ext. 134.

The Professional Restylers Organization is dedicated to addressing the challenges facing the restyling segment of the automotive aftermarket and to developing effective strategies for dealing with industry-specific issues.  For more information, visit www.sema.org/pro.
