HOTTEST VEHICLES TO BE ANNOUNCED AT 2011 SEMA SHOW
-- Exhibitors Select Outstanding Vehicles in Four Categories--

DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (July 28, 2011) - SEMA Show exhibitors will identify the hottest vehicle platforms during the 2011 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The winning models will be presented with the coveted SEMA Award in four categories: Hottest Car, Hottest Truck, Hottest 4x4-SUV, and - for the first time - Hottest Sport Compact.

"The SEMA Award is an exciting opportunity to highlight the year's hottest vehicle models," said Chris Kersting, SEMA President and CEO. "Consumers want to know which cars and trucks have been embraced by our industry. This one-of-a-kind award will help guide them to the most accessory-friendly vehicles and the great products that make them cool."

Show organizers will take a tally of every booth vehicle at the Show to identify the most prominent vehicle models in the four categories. With each booth vehicle representing one vote, the most prominent models will be named the SEMA Award winners for the year.

"SEMA Show exhibitors are the visionaries of the industry," said Kersting. "Their decision to display a vehicle in their booth is a statement about what they see as the hottest trending vehicles for the year ahead."

While the exhibitors are the ones who will ultimately determine the winners, a list of contender vehicles will be announced in August. The contender vehicles are those that are expected to have a significant presence at the 2011 SEMA Show and will most likely be in contention for the award. Several indicators will be used to select the contenders, including the support the automaker has demonstrated to the SEMA industry, preregistrations of the Show's feature vehicles, involvement in one or more SEMA OEM collaboration programs, coverage in enthusiast publications and more.

The SEMA Show typically includes more than 700 qualified booth vehicles. Last year's SEMA Award winners were the Chevrolet Camaro for Hottest Car, the Ford F-Series for Hottest Truck and the Jeep Wrangler for Hottest 4x4-SUV.
