Build a Pinewood Car at Home for a Great Cause

By SEMA Editors

While the Pinewood Drag Races will not take place in person this year, SEMA members are still invited to help make a positive impact in young lives by purchasing and building a Pinewood Car to build at home.

Since 2007, SEMA Cares has brought together charitable giving, community participation, automotive passion, and youthful spirit through the annual SEMA Pinewood Drag Races. The signature event, which features sponsored miniature wooden cars and trucks, has become a favorite opportunity among members to give back to the charities that best reflect the values and interests of the automotive specialty equipment industry.

While the Pinewood Drag Races will not take place in person this year, SEMA members are still invited to help make a positive impact in young lives by purchasing and building a Pinewood Car to build at home. Each donation kit includes a pre-shaped pinewood car or truck body, wheels, axles, and weights. One hundred percent of the proceeds will directly benefit SEMA Cares.

“As a non-profit charity, we are always looking for opportunities to incorporate the joy of automotive into fun activities and fundraising,” said Lindsay Bianco, manager, membership projects. “By donating through SEMA Cares, our members can help make a larger and more significant impact of giving as part of the collective automotive industry voice and still know that their contributions are going to a great cause.”
