Spy Shots—2017 Camaro Z28 Caught at the Ring

Spies in Germany have provided the best look yet at the ’17 Camaro Z28.

The next Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 was caught track testing at the famed Nürburgring. Spotted under light camouflage, the new Z/28 is being prepped to pick up where the last one left off. That means it's destined to be a stripped-down track machine boasting incredible figures from a brawny engine.

It’s relatively easy to see the new Z/28 will get much more exaggerated styling than even the recently debuted ZL1, with a new grille and wider arches. Less clear is what’s going to power the car. The old model had a 7.0L V8 with 505 hp—a number that’s way outgunned by the new ZL1. A 3.6L V6 with twin turbos is rumored, but the new Camaro’s significant weight loss may mean not too much more power for the Z/28.

Expect to see the new car sometime next year.
