The newly renovated SEMA Garage is now taking appointments for SEMA members to have emissions-related products tested in its Emissions Compliance Center. Experts are available to help members navigate the California Air Resources Board’s (CARB) certification process in a reduced-cost, streamlined manner.

The 15,000 square-foot facility, which opened in 2013 in response to industry demand for a user-friendly resource for complying with emissions standards, was recently remodeled to include a new state-of-the art Canister Load Bench, Emissions Chassis Dynamometer and AVL AMA i60 Emissions Bench.

All automotive parts and components that affect emissions of a motor vehicle—such as air filters, cam shafts, exhaust headers, intake/exhaust components and turbochargers—require testing and certification to demonstrate that they do not increase vehicle emissions. Basic dyno services or baseline/R&D testing are being provided now, with CARB certification available later this year.

SEMA Garage services include the actual emissions testing, assistance in the analysis of test data, preparation of certification applications and other laboratory and marketing information.
