Virginia Introduces Bill to Allow Permanent Vehicle Registration

By SEMA Washington, D.C., Staff

Legislation has been introduced in Virginia to provide that vehicle registrations would be permanent unless the vehicle ownership or the address where the vehicle is principally garaged changes. The bill also provides that the permanent registration would apply to vehicle registrations issued on or after July 1, 2015, and that the fee for issuance of a permanent vehicle registration would be the same as that previously charged for a two-year registration.
