Maryland Bill to Provide “Second Chance” for Vehicles That Fail OBD Emissions Test to Be Considered February 14, 2014

The House Environmental Matters Committee will consider legislation requiring a vehicle emissions inspection facility, at the request of the owner of a vehicle that has failed an on-board diagnostics test, to immediately conduct an exhaust emissions test of the vehicle at no cost to the owner.
  

Legislation requiring a vehicle emissions inspection facility, at the request of the owner of a vehicle that has failed an on-board diagnostics test, to immediately conduct an exhaust emissions test of the vehicle at no cost to the owner will be considered by the House Environmental Matters Committee, February 14, 2014. The bill provides that vehicles that pass the exhaust emissions test after a failed OBD test would be deemed in compliance with emissions standards established for the vehicle.
