Spy Shots—’14 Corvette C7: Styling Inspired by ’63 Sting Ray

Corvette C7

The latest shots of the ’14 Corvette C7 delivered by the shooters at Brenda Priddy & Co. show a vehicle that has gone on a slight diet. According to the shooters on sight, and based on how the mule is riding on the chassis, the C7 has lost a little width and gained a little length. Upon further review of the photos, Priddy's team estimates that the C7 will measure about 2–3 in. narrower and 2–3 in. longer than the current C6.

Equally spaced quad exhaust tips can be spotted in the back, and Priddy reports that she has been told to expect the styling to be inspired by the ’63 Sting Ray and to not be surprised if the production C7 has split rear windows and additional design cues from the ’63.

Regarding what's under the hood, the team's sources say to expect a small-displacement turbocharged V8 that will definitely be matted to a seven-speed manual transmission. The team was told that the seven-speed will help with increasing highway efficiency (better MPG).

Production of the C7 is expected to begin in June 2013 at GM's Bowling Green facility and should hit dealers in the first quarter of 2014.
