2009 Dealer Day: Drive New Sales and Profits

 Chris Kersting at Dealer Day
SEMA President & CEO Chris Kersting talks to auto dealers about tapping into the accessories market at the 2008 Dealer Day.
As vehicle sales begin to recover, auto dealers can find new opportunities and revenue streams in the $31.9 billion specialty-equipment market. Take the lead in your market through vehicle accessorization, and join the second annual Dealer Day at the 2009 SEMA Show.

Dealer Day has been totally revamped to meet your needs. This year, you will walk away with specific tools that will help you integrate accessory sales into your business.

The program is open to both new- and used- car dealers and takes place on Wednesday, November 4, 11:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 2009 SEMA Show.

You spoke and we listened. We've taken a great program and made it even better. The four all-new sessions will be held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, room N109 and include:

  • Recession-Busting Strategies to Speed Accessory Sales: Josh "Chop" Towbin of Towbin Dodge and the reality star of the hit show "King of Cars," will present proven strategies on how to use accessories to reinvigorate sales, stimulate floor traffic and create high-margin profit centers throughout the dealership.
  • Successful Accessories Integration Today: An expert panel of top dealers share best practices on integrating accessories into the selling process with today's new business tools. Panelists include Steve Lagerquist, Inver Grove Toyota; Zane Clark, Martin Cadillac GMC Saab; Larry Branche, Fitzgerald Auto Mall; and Mike O'Neil, Falmouth Toyota.
  • Warranties, Liability and Quality-Concerns and Solutions: Addresses the impact of accessories on new- or used- car warranties, along with the advantages of using an installer to reduce risk. Panelists include Karl Stearns, KMS Marketing Solutions (moderator); Joey Johnston, Tops and Trends (restyler); Jon Titman, Automotive Essentials (restyler); Ed Woods, Parkway Ford (dealer) and Jeff Daniels, Toyota of Muncie (dealer).
  • Turning Used Vehicles into New Money: Learn how to identify innovative strategies to speed inventory turns and increase higher-margin sales. Panelists include Keith Hagler, Taylor Auto Credit & NIADA Regional vice president (moderator); Marty Lidell, Kachina Cadillac; and Lou Tedeschi, ASPI Motors.

"The Dealer Day event was the best return on investment in learning how other dealerships have successfully integrated accessories into their dealership operations,” says Jay Miano of Hendricks Lexus, Charlotte, N.C., who attended last year’s program. “We gained a tremendous advantage in learning best practices.”
