Members of the Light-Truck Accessory Alliance (TORA) are not only setting the fundraising pace in the Council Cup-Cash for Kids charity golf tournament, but they're also talking up a good game. The golf tourney, to be held in the morning and afternoon on the day of the SEMA Installation Banquet & Gala Fundraiser, has drawn participation from most SEMA councils, but none are putting their money—and self-deprecatory humor—on the line more than the TORA.
"Joel 'Guido' Ayres and Ron 'Soprano' DiVincenzo deserve a great deal of credit for their time and energy," says TORA chairman Todd Yeoman. "Hats off to our fundraising efforts thus far. We have set the bar high for other councils, present and future."
But TORA's golfers are less confident in their golf game than their fundraising efforts. Either that or they're trying a little gamesmanship psychology on their fellow hackers.
"In the TORA Manufacturers Committee we are working hard on training programs," says committee Chairman Kelly Kneifl. "We have a vision of where we want to get to, but not sure how we're going to get there. This describes my golf game to a tee."
Yeoman is even more bluntly honest.
"Considering that I travel the course with machete-swinging dwarfs to find my errant shots and I wear hip waders on every water hole, practice doesn't matter." But he expects his team to succeed through more unconventional means, including "physically intimidating other teams and a forgiving liability policy with the golf carts."

The Council Cup - Cash for Kids is just one event representing SEMA's charitable efforts to benefit two worthwhile organizations that have become favorites of SEMA-member companies-Childhelp and the Victory Junction Gang Camp.
