Maru Trevizo

As VP of Human Resources, Maru Trevizo, SHRM-CP, PHR, oversees the full cycle of HR functions for SEMA, with a focus on leadership development, organizational culture, people strategy, training and coaching.

Trevizo joined SEMA in 2017 with more than 20 years of professional experience in human resources from a wide range of industries. She previously served as HR Director of a multiplant operation, where she helped successfully transition the company from a privately owned venture to a publicly traded corporation. The project required Trevizo to manage reductions in force, create bonus plans, conduct audits to ensure compliance with SOX and FLSA regulations, as well as work effectively with executive teams.

Born and raised in Mexico, Trevizo moved to the United States in her mid-twenties and is fluent in Spanish. Believing in the value of continued education, Trevizo attends many HR-related seminars and conferences throughout the year and remains active in professional organizations such as PIHRA, SHRM, the HR Star Conference and the California Chamber of Commerce. Trevizo holds a B.A. in Business Administration from the Universidad Autonoma de Baja California. She currently resides in Upland, California, with her husband Eric and two sons, Eli, and Liam. In her spare time, she enjoys getting outdoors to hike, spending time by the beach, reading and crafting.
