As artificial intelligence continues to reshape business operations across industries, members of the Wheel, Tire, Suspension & Brake Council (WTSBC) are taking proactive steps to better understand how these emerging technologies can support long-term growth and operational success.
During WTSBC’s recent AI Coffee & Conversation session, OE Wheels demonstrated the value of collaborative learning by bringing together employees from multiple departments to participate in the discussion together.
Rather than viewing AI as simply a technology topic, OE Wheels recognized that artificial intelligence has the potential to impact nearly every area of business operations, including sales, marketing, purchasing, inventory planning, customer experience, forecasting and reporting. By encouraging multiple departments to attend the session together, the company created an opportunity for employees to hear the same information simultaneously and begin discussing how AI could influence the organization as a whole instead of within isolated teams.
OE Wheels employees shared that learning as a group creates stronger alignment across departments and encourages conversations that may not typically happen during day-to-day operations. Employees from different areas of the business were able to exchange perspectives in real time, helping transform broad concepts into practical operational ideas. Immediately following the session, internal discussions emerged around inventory forecasting, pricing strategy, customer data, operational reporting and product development.
One of the most impactful takeaways from the discussion was the realization that successful AI implementation depends heavily on the strength of a company’s underlying business structure, operational processes and data organization. The session reinforced the importance of centralized data systems and highlighted how AI can serve as a tool to improve visibility, decision-making, efficiency and scalability rather than simply focusing on automation.
OE Wheels employees also emphasized that investing in educational opportunities like WTSBC’s AI Coffee & Conversation sessions helps strengthen company culture by promoting continuous improvement, forward thinking and employee engagement. Collaborative learning allows team members to think strategically beyond their immediate responsibilities and better understand how their roles connect to the broader organization.
Programs like these also demonstrate how WTSBC and SEMA continue to provide valuable education, networking and industry insight to help member companies stay informed, adaptable and competitive in an increasingly technology-driven aftermarket industry.
